🚀 Space Canyon
How to Play
- One button only: hold Up arrow or Space (on mobile, press and hold the screen) to climb; release to dive.
- The ship flies forward on its own — your job is to weave through waves, zigzags, tight tunnels and sharp curves without touching the walls.
- Every 300 m you advance one level, up to level 10. Each level the canyon gets narrower and the scrolling gets faster.
- Touching a wall ends the run with a bang. Your score is the distance flown; clear level 10 to beat the game!
The One-Button Cave Flyer & Survival Tips
Space Canyon belongs to one of the oldest and most beloved genres of browser gaming: the one-button cave flyer. Its ancestors include SFCave on the Palm Pilot, the famous "helicopter game" of the early web, and later worldwide hits like Jetpack Joyride and Flappy Bird. The formula endures because a single input creates a pure test of rhythm and anticipation: you are never confused about the controls, only about your own timing. The most important technique is feathering — instead of holding the button until you are high and then releasing until you are low, use many short taps and releases to keep your vertical speed close to zero. A slow ship is an agile ship; momentum is what kills you, because by the time you see a wall it is too late to cancel the speed you built up. Second, read ahead: keep your eyes on the right edge of the screen, not on the ship, and start climbing or diving before the terrain forces you to. In narrow tunnel sections, aim for the center of the passage and make only tiny corrections. Finally, learn the level rhythm: the canyon gets 12 pixels tighter and noticeably faster each level, so the calm early stretch is the place to practice your feathering, not to relax.
