🃏 Emoji Memory Match
How to Play
- All 16 cards in a 4x4 grid start face down. They hide 8 fruit emoji, two of each.
- Flip two cards at a time; if they match, the pair stays open.
- If they don't match, they flip back after a moment, so remember their positions.
- Match all 16 to finish! Your number of moves and elapsed time are recorded.
Memory Training & Tips
This card-matching game has been loved worldwide for a long time as "Concentration." The heart of the game is the information you gain from failed tries. Even when a pair doesn't match and flips back, remembering the positions and pictures of the two cards you just saw greatly raises your odds on the next turn. An efficient approach: early on, prioritize flipping cards you haven't seen yet to gather as much information as possible, and the moment a picture you've already seen appears, immediately connect it to the position you memorized. Putting positions into words like "second card in the top-left area," or weaving the picture and position into a short story (for example, "the grapes hid in the corner"), makes them stick much longer. In theory the minimum is 8 moves with luck, but finishing within 12 to 14 shows quite good memory. Play a round each day and try to lower your move count.
